New Byline

Cherry Blossoms!!
After the winter we had...it's finally spring! You can tell because the cherry blossoms bloomed right on schedule. On Friday at lunch, I walked to the tidal basin with a coworker to check them out at their peak:
There were lots of picnic-ers:
The reflection in the water was beautiful:
Jefferson Memorial:
Washington Monument:
...and of course, the green 'blossoms' that spring up this time of year as well:

Yesterday, I biked to Bethesda with a friend to check out the 'unofficial' cherry blossom festival there - a neighborhood with street after street lined with cherry trees. It definitely rivaled the Mall:
Glad we got there early - by the time we were leaving, the car traffic was definitely picking up:
Not to worry, we didn't leave without stopping at one of the many baked good sales...mmm brownies and girl scout cookies:
