After the race, I actually felt up for a hike, so my dad and I headed to Dead Horse Point State Park. On the way, we saw our only 'wildlife' of the whole trip:

La Sal Mountains:



The Colorado River, from Dead Horse Point (so named because the wild mustang horses were herded and trapped out on this peninsula and then captured, the ones they didn't take didn't leave the peninsula for some reason and ended up dying of dehydration, even though they could see water - sad)

But it was beautiful!


Looks like a mini Grand Canyon:

These rock outcroppings were interestingly named Monitor and Merrimac:

See the U shaped bend in the road down there? That's what we drove in on:
